The ferocious image of the goddess Kali is given a nice portrayal in the beautiful Batik painting. She is shown carrying on her one hand the beheaded body of the demong with blood dipping from his neck and trampling over the body of Lord Shiva. It is believed that worshipping Kali protects us from the evil spirits. On her ten hands the goddess is carrying ten different weapons and the method of waxing and dewaxing gives a special effect to the painting.
